Walk to commemorate the Battle of the Somme Centenary


Southampton Old Cemetary Sunday 3rd July at 3pm Themed walk to commemorate the Battle of the Somme Centenary. There will also be a minutes silence and laying of a wreath at the Cross of Sacrifice and wooden crosses placed at the graves before the walk starts. All walks are Southampton City Council approved and start just inside the main gates at the end of Cemetery Road where parking is available. Organised by the Friends of Southampton Old Cemetery (FoSOC).

The walks and events are all free but any donations would be much appreciated to help further our work in the Old Cemetery. The walks last for approximately 90mins.

Photographs with consent are also taken during these and purely used for FoSOC publicity purposes.

The Friends of Southampton Old Cemetery is a voluntary group of enthusiasts interested in history, wildlife and maintenance of the Old Cemetery. They also research the history and assist visitors to locate family graves, organise many guided walks and other activities throughout the year and also hold stocks of various publications.
