A name has now been chosen for our Zany Zebra!

As you will be aware the Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership, East Hampshire Community Rail Partnership and South West Trains have banded together to sponsor a Marwell Zoo Zany Zebra as part of the proposed 40+ zebra trail around Southampton this Summer.

We held a public competition for naming our Zebra at the Community Rail in the City event in Waterloo in mid May and we are delighted to announce that the winning name chosen by our steering groups is ...........Bunty!

The winners have now received a couple of free SWT tickets and a pair of free Marwell Zoo entrance tickets, while runners up have received a Discover the South Downs National Park goody bag. Well done to them and all who entered!

So, when added to it's official name our Zebra will now be known as Bunty, (Let's go fly a kite!) (Perhaps the current Mary Poppins show and cast at the Mayflower would like to endorse her as well??)

We are finalising agreements about where to place her and more details will be available soon.

A photograph of the freshly painted Bunty, (Let's go fly a kite!) will be available soon, but attached is a copy of local artist Will Rosie's original design idea, which we think is fabulous.
